This picture makes me think of a blue berry exploding when it is put into a microwave. What this really is, is a dumbbell nebula. Which basically is what our sun will look like when it stops performing nuclear fusion.This particular nebula is the M27 nebula which is one of the brightest planetary nebulae in the sky. Fun fact: it takes light about 1000 years to reach us from M27!
